Chemical safety has a "pathway"

Don't look! These projects may sound obscure, but they are closely related to the clothing, food, housing and transportation of ordinary people.




In 1979, Cheng Chunsheng, who excelled in chemistry, was admitted to Sun Yat-sen University, which began her inseparable relationship with the chemical industry. At that time, China's chemical industry was still relatively backward. Take pesticides as an example, the vast majority of important pesticides imported or imitation of foreign technology for production, low efficiency, many hidden problems.




How to shorten the gap? In order to find out more safe, environmentally friendly chemical process technology path, Cheng Chunsheng "day and night" busy work: soaking in the laboratory during the day to do experiments, record data, find problems; bored in the library at night, from the inception of the U.S. Chemical Abstracts in 1907, combing English publications, digging for clues to the technical route... ...a large number of important products of the process technology problems have been overcome.




However, the safety of chemical production was always on Cheng Chunsheng's mind, and in 2005, he was determined to enter the field of chemical reaction risk research and establish a reaction risk research platform with China's own intellectual property rights.




Cheng Chunsheng's efforts have been successful. Since 2017, the chemical reaction safety risk assessment technology developed by Cheng Chunsheng's team has been popularized and applied in the national fine chemical industry, and the product yield, "three wastes" emission, and the injury rate of millions of man-hours of the relevant enterprises have reached the international advanced level.
